At the scientific symposium in organisation by the German Society for Waste Management (DGAW), Aleksander Jandric et al. as part of scientific team from University of Natural Resources and life sciences in Vienna (BOKU) will present on 14.3.2019 the results of research about concentration of brominated flame retardants in plastics from old electrical equipment measured using portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF).
The XRF is currently one of the most popular analytical technologies for the analysis of plastic additives. Within the scope of the laWEEEda Eramsus+ Project, project partners from the La Salle University from Leon (Nicaragua) and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) have purchased portable XRF devices and thereby expanding the possibilities of these universities for the research of waste materials.
